Do you want an easy and tasty meal in one pan? This Pork Chunks and Green Beans recipe is simple to make and full of flavor. The pork is soft and cooked in a pork stock with tomato paste, bell peppers, green beans, onion, and garlic. Everything cooks in one pan. You can eat it with white rice. Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork chunks or cubes
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) French-cut green beans
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cups pork stock
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 orange bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Melt the butter
In a non-stick pan, melt the unsalted butter over medium-high heat.

2. Sauté the aromatics
Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and orange bell pepper. Saute for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables begin to soften. Push them to the side of the pan.

3. Brown the pork chunks
Add the pork chunks to the cleared side of the pan. Brown them for about 5 minutes, then combine them with the sauteed vegetables.

4. Add the remaining ingredients
Stir in the French-cut green beans, tomato paste, and pork stock. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix everything until well combined.

5. Simmer the dish
Cover the pan and let it cook for 15 minutes, or until the pork is tender and fully cooked.

6. Serve and enjoy
Serve warm over a bed of white rice for a filling meal.

Substitutes

  • Pork chunks – Any pork cuts will do as long as it is not thicker than 1 inch. Otherwise, it will require longer cooking time.
  • French-cut green beans – I suggest using fresh string beans (sitaw) if you have them available. I think it is the best substitute for French-cut beans but, you would have to cook it longer.
  • Pork stock or broth – It can be replaced with pork cubes or granules.

Feel free to add more spices if you want. The sauce of this dish is thick, you have room for more.
