What is a Mussel Meat?
Mussel meat is the edible portion of mussels, which are mollusks found in both freshwater and saltwater. It is delicate, a little sweet, and saltish flavor, with a tender yet slightly chewy texture. Mussel meat is highly nutritious with a good source of protein other vitamins, and minerals.
Mussels are always better when they are cooked fresh, but if you don’t have any access to fresh ones, you can always get them frozen at the grocery stores. Supermarkets have wide selections of mussel meats from pre-cooked, sizes, and brands.
