Shrimp Broccoli in Butter
If you’re craving seafood today, here’s an easy peasy shrimp broccoli in butter recipe today. We usually do Friday or Saturday as seafood day because we make it a special meal day. This dish I did not cook, but my husband did because he said he was craving for shrimp and broccoli so, I let him make our dinner. Easy to make and light meal which is perfect for dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- Salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 cup peeled shrimp
- Shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat the butter over medium heat in a wide skillet.
- Add the broccoli and carrots. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Spread out the vegetables evenly and cover the pan for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic. Cover again and let the vegetables soften, stirring occasionally for even cooking.
- Add the peeled shrimp once the carrots are just tender.
- Cook the shrimp for about 3 minutes on each side, or until pink. Be careful not to overcook. Mix everything well.
- Remove from heat. If using, sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese just before serving.
Ingredient Tips
- Shrimp – Large or jump shrimps work best for this dish. Use peeled raw shrimp and pat them dry before cooking.
- Vegetables – Cut the broccoli and carrots into uniform so they cook evenly. You can also add zucchini if you like.
- Seasonings – Add chili flakes for a slight heat or a squeeze of lemon for a tangy flavor.
This dish is cooked on the stovetop but it is also perfect for skillet cooking. You can cook this in the backyard or when you go camping. This will also make a romantic dinner when paired with wine. Yay!
