If you’re looking to make a fruit dessert or snacks for an upcoming party or small get-together, try this mango gelatin. Mango gelatin jelly is a delicious dessert or snack. Aside from being delectable, it is too economical. All you need are mangoes, gelatin, sugar, water, and a little bit of milk. It is also very easy to make but needs at least 3 hours of setting time prior to serving.
If you love mangoes, you’ll definitely like this dessert. It’s also a perfect treat during the summertime.
For the mango puree, I used the boxed one from the store; the reason I made this because I have one available. But, you can definitely puree from fresh mangoes. You’ll probably have to use 3-4 mangoes for a cup of puree. Peel or cut the mangoes with a knife (do not include the seed). Place the flesh in the blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Be sure to use ripe and sweet mangoes, otherwise, you will not get that sweetness in the jelly. But, you can always add more sugar if necessary.
Please note that if you leave out the milk, the final outcome will be darker gelatin. It’s because the sugar will turn brown when heated and will make the gelatin dark. The milk helps lighten the mixture and you’ll get a golden yellow jelly.
Feel free to be creative with the presentation if you wish to. You can unmold the jelly onto a serving plate and slice it into cubes or you leave it in the glass and just scoop it out to eat.
Enjoy!
