Prepping the Cabbage
Whenever I use cabbage for cooking or salad, I always wash or rinse it properly before cooking because there might be tiny insects or their eggs trapped inside the leaf. Rinse it a few times and dry.
Pork Belly Substitute
I usually get pork bellies at Asian stores or international supermarkets. I know the supply of pork belly is sometimes scarce at the grocery store. But no need to be disappointed because you can always use bacon instead. Most bacon was cut from pork bellies. If you don’t want to use pork belly or bacon, you can also use sausages, or no meat at all – for a healthy choice.
For other ingredients substitute, feel free to use whatever variation you want to add. The more spices you use, the better tasting it will turn out.
