Cheesy Macaroni Shells Recipe

Cheesy Macaroni shells made from scratch.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz macaroni mini shells or your favorite pasta
  • 6 cups water
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz Colby Jack
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter, unsalted
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a medium pot, boil water. Add butter until melted. Add pasta, cook until done.
  • Drain pasta in a colander. Set aside. 
  • In a second pot, larger than the one used for the pasta, heat milk to warm on medium heat. Add cooked pasta, then 8 once cheeses (use any combo cheese you like), reduce heat to simmer while stirring continuously until cheese is melted. 
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
