Cheesy Meat Garlic Bread (Air Fryer Recipe)
One simple way to avoid wasting leftover bread is to turn it into garlic bread with cheese and meat cooked using an air fryer. Even with just butter and garlic powder, you can already make a delicious garlic bread snack. You can enjoy it with coffee or a cold drink of your choice.
Why I Decided to Make This
I came up with this idea because we had some leftover buns from the other day. Rather than let them go to waste, I turned them into garlic bread since I already had everything I needed to air fry them.
What Type of Bread Can You Use?
I used buns for this recipe, but you can also use Baguette, which is the most commonly used bread for garlic bread. Sliced bread works too, or just use whatever you have on hand.
Add More Flavor with Cheese and Meat
Aside from cheese, I also added some cold cuts to make the garlic bread more flavorful. If you don’t have cold cuts, using cheese alone is perfectly fine. You can also add thinly sliced vegetables for a healthier choice. Just make sure they’re sliced thin so they cook properly in the air fryer.
Snack or Meal? You Decide!
If you’re looking for a quick and easy snack and you have an air fryer, give this cheesy meat garlic bread a try. Honestly, when I make this just for myself, I don’t even consider it a snack because it’s already a full meal for me. After all, the bread, meat, and cheese combo is surprisingly filling.
This cheesy garlic bread is made with simplicity. Nothing fancy. Share it with your friends and family.
Ingredients
- 2 buns (any variety you like)
- 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
- Garlic powder
- 1/2-1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2-1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Ham or any cold cut of your choice, thinly diced
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Slice each bun in half lengthwise using a serrated or bread knife.
- Add the Garlic Butter: Spread a generous amount of room-temperature unsalted butter over the cut sides of the buns. Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the buttered surface.
- Layer the Meat and Cheese: Add a light layer of diced ham (or your chosen cold cuts) on top of the garlic butter. Avoid overloading to keep it crispy. Sprinkle a mix of shredded mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese over the meat.
- Air Fry to Perfection: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Place the prepared buns in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden. - Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with your favorite side dish, dessert, or dipping sauce. Perfect for sharing or as a solo treat!
Tips
For the first slice of bread, I used mozzarella cheese, and for the second one, I used sharp cheddar. For the third and fourth slices, I combined both mozzarella and cheddar. It turned out really good.
