Misua Soup with Sardines
Fast and easy misua soup recipe with sardines and chayote squash. A dish with a Filipino touch.

Ingredients

chayote squash, peeled and thinly sliced

hot water

small can
sardines in tomato sauce (your favorite sardines)
3
cubes
bouillon (chicken and beef, adjust to taste)
Instructions
Preheat a pan over medium-high heat.
Melt the butter and saute the chopped onion for about 3 minutes until fragrant and slightly translucent.
Add the minced garlic and saute for another 1–2 minutes.
Toss in the chayote slices and continue sauteing for 3 minutes to slightly soften them.
Pour in the hot water, then add the misua noodles, sardines (including the sauce), and bouillon cubes. Stir gently to combine.
Cover the pan and let the soup cook for 5–10 minutes, or until the chayote is tender and the misua is fully cooked.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve hot. It is delicious on its own or paired with rice or warm bread.
