Easy Gyudon Recipe

Here is a quick, easy and budget-friendly Gyudon recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup dashi stock/broth
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 14 oz shaved beef, or thinly sliced beef

TOPPINGS

  • 1 pc soft boiled egg, topping
  • 1 tbsp scallions, optional
  • 1 tbsp picked red ginger (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the pan over medium-high heat.
  • Melt the butter.
  • Saute the onions for 3-5 minutes or until translucent white.
  • Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Mix all together, and cover.
  • Stir occasionally until the beef is completely cooked.
  • Serve over white rice and add the toppings.
